I normally frequent Kolkata suburbs and "Subhash Sarobar" at Beliaghata. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Regards,
Subha.

Hey Gavin, It was a fantastic experience at Fort Williams. We managed to hook all kinds of fish (and a float :D ). We will catch that elusive 15KG + Rohu some other day.... :-)

Saturday adventure is ON...

Hey Subha - Glad you had a great time even though the weather wasn't really good.. FW is the place to be if you want to have a recreational angling weekend...

Pity we didn't take any pics however the float catching would have been a neat pic...

Looking forward to the next time at FW...

Hi Joydeep,

Fishing is allowed in Subhas Sarobar.. There is an office somwhere around the corner, however u can contact the bait shops just behind seats no 94 and 96 and they will update you on the available seats.. The tickets I think is about 150 bucks ..

GRC

The update is not that bad.. We have managed to catch 4 Catlas (1.5 Kg each), 2 rohu and 5 mrigel.

Altogather 10 Kgs of fish. (Not that bad as they have only 400 bucks for each seat. :P). The pond have lots of big ones but it's only luck dependant.

Happy fishing...

@ Joydeep - Beleghat to be targeted in the beginning of October.. The seat numbers as mentioned by Nil are bang on.. Seat #s 94 and 96 are good seats if the VIP seats are unavailable..

@ Debojyoti - Decent catch there.. Any chance of pics ?? Getting info on lot of pass lakes for fishing however want to go to a place where there is a chance of getting a good fish. While there are always stories of "old" fish being in the lake, but I feel that its just a selling point for the lake.. But yes, there are a few lakes that are having good fish.. So lets see how that goes..

@ Nil - Dude, we are meeting on Monday else ur plane wont take off on Tuesday

GRC
