One off beat trip to
Agardanda

Well It was Geeta’s (My wife’s) birth day and we just decided in the morning to get out from Mumbai and head toward the sea. The idea was to first get out and then decide where we heading, we started out early around six with Geeta grumbling a bit at me for waking her up so early in the morning after all it was her day. Some where she knew that if we are heading towards the sea means I would be sneaking my fishing rod some how in all the samaan so it was a very tricky situation. However I some how manage to put her in the car and pushed off from the house. It was good that we did that , we did not got any morning traffic and managed to make good time out of Mumbai city.

I also knew in my heart that I have get her to see what we do when I say I am going fishing , I called Ali on the phone and realize that he is already in the vicinity where we were heading. I was thrilled because I was not expecting any company. I told Geeta that apart from celebrating her birthday I would also introduce her to sea water angling and one of my buddies Ali, she was surprisingly all game for it.

We reached Korlai after Geeta and I spent some quality time in the afternoon in Alibag with a great malwani lunch. We collected Ali bhai from the Light house and headed towards Murud. The idea was to have a night halt in between and head towards Agardanda in the morning.

We had a great evening dinner and crashed out early as we all were tried

We reached Agardanda and we all were so happy to see the quite small beach and a Jetty lulling in the afternoon sun,. Ali and I casted some bait and also went on a boat to enjoy a sea ride as well as do some anchor fishing from the boat . Geeta took some pictures as she is a keen amateur photographer (Amateur?) The wind was really blowing and we managed nothing big (Only few small cat fish) but it was a marvelous day and Ali and I decided to go back one of these days to explore the area further.

Although it was not a huge success in terms of catch but we gathered some really useful tips about the game condition and the kind of fish in the area from some great local anglers. Some time you never catch a fish but I some how have begun to realize that angling is much more then catching fish it’s more like catching the precious glimpses of your true self when you are one to one with nature

Some pictures Geeta took of the moments

Hi! Mr. Rajat, Mr. Santosh and Mr.Al,

I really envy you all going places and enjoying. Here, I am tied up with my work and was not able to join you (Though I am dreaming about Fishing).

I wish I could work for Two days and fish for remaining 5Days! as Spoon angler always quotes.

Let us plan for March for some hard core Fishing. :D

Warm Regards,

Arun
