as for the fishing - hooked a barracuda on a spoon BUT shattered my rod by badly landing it.

back in edinburgh now - waiting for it to get warmer :D

Where did you manage to fish ?
When I was there, pretty much the only place that I found that didn't have a huge rolling Surf was the north of the island and of the two places that I visited there, one was a national park with no fishing allowed and the other was some place with back sand and endless rough coral flats.

Lovely place hough once you get away from Dempasar and the diving was great.

dont know the name of the place but it was near the mangroves. the diving was great indeed. however there was a lot of sewage in the water. quite an irony seeing these huge mantas and having to avoid plastic bags too. iam told that this is the case during december months owing to the direction of the currents. have to go back in aug-sept-oct to see the mola mola! the people who have seen them cant stop talking about them. as for my rod the guy i bought it from says he can replace the broken sections.
regards.

Mola mola (The Great Ocean Sunfish) is quite common around Cornwall in the summer months.
Time to get your 10mm wetsuit out and start diving in the cold ?
