just got back about 2hrs ago! i had a fantastic holiday in goa it was my first time and not to be the last.i fished werever i could including calangute beach , baga beach , ashwem beach, marine douhrada hotel lakes and baga bridge.the locals are very helpful in techniques and tackle.i took many lures which unfortunatley didnt work but when u stick a strip of mackeral on a size 2 hook on most beaches a variety of fish will bite e.g catfish and silverfish.at the marine douhrada hotel was poor for a few days till i grasped the secrets of success which are :
* float fish with a size 16+ hook (keep away from the crabs)
* use prawns from the restauruant or buy the laughing cow cheese and make a cheese paste with bread.
*don't be shy ask around for advice.
*tend to fish the lake nearest to the entrance.
*bigger fish bite early in the morning e.g. 6 till 8 or from 4pm throughout the night.
i will be posting my images on the image gallery soon and also in the brittish sea fishing magazine called Sea Angler.
