Hi Fellow Anglers,

I visited Korlai Fort again on Friday 21st December with my wife, as she wanted a break from her routine Household work. I suggested Revdanda as it would serve the interset of both of us ( As for me, I could try angling from rocks and she could just enjoy the quietness and serene landscape).

I tried spinning in the morning when the tide was incoming, with various lures (Spoons, Rapalas and Fire Tiger). However, there were no hits for almost about 4hours! Then when the tide turned, I got a good hit on my Rapala lure and after a brief fight, I landed a decent Mangrove Jack.

Again after about half an hour, I had a secondhit, once again on same lure. This time it was a Grouper. I shall host the pics later.

Arun

Well i have been there as usual got no strikes through out the day. Mr Mohile can you tell me where you got the strike at the head (near the fort) or towards the beach. Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks Santosh for hosting my pictures. Somehow I am not able to open the Microsoft toyes page.

Yes, I too think Fishes of Revdanda must be in love with me, otherwise I would not have got strikes on both visits!

Regards,

Arun

Mr. Ali, Mr. Sualeh and Mr. Tathagat,

Many thanks for your compliments. Now you must have seen my pics.
:-)

Tathagat, You have to cast from the rocks and not from the beach. I too did not get any strikes for almost 4 hours. :? Also you don't see any signs of feeding there.

Better luck next time.

Regards,

Arun

Thanks Yaj, yes MJ's are really crazy for my lures, but I wish to have a Baramundi there.

Let us hope the day would come soon.

Arun

Thanks Sualeh for your reply. Sorry, I forgot that you are located at Islamabad and not Karachi!

Like you, we in Mumbai have to travel around 1000 Km if we want to try for Mahaseer.

Regards,

Arun

Just 50 Km from mumbai and you can be with the Mahaseer. They are there .. just have to figure out what tactics will work.

every weekend in Badlapur market you can see Mahaseer in dozens.

And they are also there in other rivers flowing out of Tata dams like the Kundalika

Tatas have a mahseer breeding program at Lonavla - no angling though on their lakes... unless you happen to have the right contacts !

Very true Santosh and its proven that they exists in this waters, I will rephrase my question Mr Mohile what meant was: did you get the strike towards the fort or close to the light house??

Hi, Tathagat,

I got the strikes near Fort. I believe the water near light house is shallow so I did not try that side at all.

As regards Mahaseers near Mumbai, what I meant was they are very rare in our rivers around Mumbai. Not like Cavery and North Indian Rivers.

Regards,

Arun
