hi guys,
this is a 18 pounder deccan mahseer caught at the bucket of vaitarna dam. i caught him in the morning at 8 o'clock on a copper spoon. it was indeed a great experience landing this beautiful fish. i was using 0.30 sufix mono.

I am ignorant to the fact of the existance of Deccan Masheer, I thought only the North and South rivers had them.Learnt something new thanks .

Hi! Spoonangler,

That was a nice specimen of Deccan Mahaseer. Are we allowed to do angling in Vaitarna lake. What does 'Bucket' of Vaitarna Dam means?

hey shapan,
i caught the mulley fish on a copper spoon. the fish weighed 8 pounds.
but was a good catch. nowadays u dont get to see this size of fish.

arun,
actually we are not allowed fishing at the vaitarna dam. but i know a couple of security people bcoz of which it is possible. the bucket is nothing but a concrete construction built below the dam gates to minimize the force of water that is let from the dam gates. the shape is like a bucket.

Excellent mulley!

What kind of a retrieve did use? Did you bring in the spoon slow and steady or fast with breaks?

How was the fight?
