In an article which appeared in an English online paper Milton Keynes Citizen dated 22nd May 2007 and entitled 'Rat infestations on the increase' this was stated:

"Among the 70 diseases that rats are known to carry are cholera, typhus, bubonic plague and leptospirosis, a bacterial illness spread by their urine contaminating water or food."
"Leptospirosis is also known to infect anglers who can come in contact with rats' urine when fishing on the riverbank."

I guess, we don't have to worry much when in flowing water, its the stagnant pools that could pose a health hazard.

Time to get those wading boots ....

It is highly recommended to thoroughly wash the soda cans before drinking out of them. The cans are typically stocked in warehouses and transported straight to the shops without being cleaned.

A study at NYCU showed that the tops of soda cans are more contaminated than public toilets. So wash them with water before putting them to the mouth.

The biggest health hazard in fishing are wives.

Try saying you'll be back on sunday night and then make an appearance on monday.

Or just leave some stinking liver in the cooler.

Or take all the cheese for bait.

Or.... the list goes on.

Stay careful. Tread softly.

Oops!

The last one. When you are writing these kind of posts try and make sure she's not in the city. Or do it under another name.

Sorry for late post.............cause I keep on reading old stuff whenever I get time....so please excuse me.

Don't just say I am going for fishing.............wives ka deemak bahoot tez hey, (they think way ahead), especially if you come empty handed every weekend.
Instead explain them properly, tell them with whom you’re going, tell them "I am going to catch FISH, keep the masala ready darling". So even if you're not lucky, you can always visit the fish market...............joking yar.

This shows how much she loves you; otherwise she would have simply said....are you not going fishing this weekend......ha ha.

Keep smiling.

Ronald.

Tell Her "I am going to meet my Girl friend." Carry all ur gear/or no gear. etc etc.
Come back and even if you have been with your GF - just put a bit of mud on ur shoes and clothes -and the response will be -"You Bum you have been out fishing "
So Anglers have fewer worries !
Cheers :D

My wifes a Veggie.. I say fishing and thats done....
Over the last few years I have shown her videos and books on angling. Now when I go fishing she thinks I am doing something 'MANLY' She allows two weekends of fishing one weekend of shopping and one weekend taing her to the local shooting range. Where she practices her .22.

One th Topic. You need to be very careful of rats They even bite. I have seen one bite after it was posined with those funny poison cakes.
