People, Until some one takes a stay order vis a vis Lalbagh fishing, please start fishing immediately.
The more articulate ones here, with majopr exposure to co-existence od species (does it still exist? ) can sharpen their pens and get to work, hammering out a 1000 worders in response to the holier than thou crowd.
BUT please police your ranks and ensure that our own holier than thous dont...muck up that is!
Best
Axx

Yes I like them with chinese chappaties  as well.

Plum Sauce goes with well really Chinese Roast Goose not Peking Duck. But then whatever catches your fancy.

You should try the other dark sauce (cannot remember the name, could be Hoi Sin), wrap the duck with cucumber and spring.

Yummy!! Sorry Fred

mmmmmmmmmmm. can't wait till I get back to Singapore.

But back to fishing. I agree with Asif. If they have no legal authority or order they can't stop any one from fishing.

so cast away and when one of the birders approaches call bobby and me for some great recipies. Sparrow stir fry, egret's egg omelates, snipe pie.... the duck and goose have already been mentioned.

Well M, you forgot the cormorant Kebabs and the pelicans pie

Come to Hong Kong mate, P.ducks on me, Hong Kong beats Singapore hands down when it comes to food as far as authenticity and taste goes, it’s all ‘bastard’ cuisine in Singapore. The good thing about Singapore is that all the menus are in English, important, and the price is a bit more, how should I put it… “economical”. We have some real good seafood in Hong Kong as well….

And now that we are back to fish, is there going to be any retort to that article Bops posted?

I did speak to Mr.Jagdeesh, about the anling club in Lalbagh lake just a few day ago. It looks like it is still in the discusson stage, the newest objection is from a group which I did not existed in Lalbagh and that is the Walkers club of Lalbagh. Could not figure out what their objection can be.

Also saw fish like talapia and carp congragating in large numbers on the surface of the water, near the bridge which seperates the two unequal parts of the lake. Looked to me like the Oxygen level in the lake is low or that must be the place where they are fed.

They congregate at 2 places i.e the bridge and the pump house.
Smaller congregations near the stone steps.

You can also see the tilapia that look like weed beds in the middle of the lake, that move around together.

Frankly they are a bit too easy to catch at the moment to call it sport, so anglers should be kept off those 2 spots at the lalbagh lake if they do get around to allowing fishing.

It is a rather high profile spot to try starting up something like this.

I forsee lots of objections from walkers, talkers, jains, cranes, boozers, loosers, snoozers, birdwatchers, birds, asses, and anyone else that knows nothing about angling.
