Hi Gavin,

The Parrot is Squak my pet Male Eclectus Parrot, he is very tame I also have a female Sally that I rescued about 2 months ago. She was a parrot with a problem, a "plucker" and had almost no feathers on her back and breast, that is why her feathers are not as perfect as the male's but she should be perfect in a couple of months.

The Males of this species are Green with a little turquoise on the wings, red underneath with dark blue flight feathers. Females are Maroon, Red and Blue:

Here is my African Congo Grey "Coco" Hes perfectly tame with me ONLY .. has one funny habit when hes out with me -- if anyone from the house comes near me - the clown pecks me !!!!

Congratulations Fred, the reason he/she bites you in those circumstances is because he or she has chosen you as a mate and is just being protective and trying to herd you away from what he/she sees/percieves as competition or a threat. :oops:

No Kidding this is "normal" parrot behaviour.
