Anyone have any strong emotions about Dave Plummer and his "hogging" the Galibore stretch of the river between Jan and Mar ?

My view is very simple - if someone from India can afford it - and JLR wants to charge the same as they do charge Plummer (call it peak season or whatever)....we should be allowed to book it !!!

As an average Joe who loves to fish I cant even book for next year - ie Feb 2008 and pay money now - JLR will not entertain bookings between Jan 15th and March 20th. However - they are happy to take your money for April 2008 :-)

If Plummer has booked it and paid good money for it - thats fair - but the fact is that he doesnt pay for it till a little before he gets here for that year.

Whats up with this (*& !!!

I understand your feelings about this issue but I'd like to know why your first post on this forum has to be a hostile one? Did you join the forum just to complain about Dave Plummer?

Not really - I joined the forum about a month ago and have been enjoying reading the posts.
Wouldnt really call my post a hostile one - its a statement of fact that I am not comfortable with - its just that around this time of the year - this issue crops up - and I wanted to know if others feel the same way - or its just me!!

Sure Indian Angler...first of all - let me congratulate you on setting up and maintaining this site - Awesome stuff !!!

About me - like many others here I guess - love to fish - brought up and based in Bangalore - know many of the guys on the forum and have fished with them - Mighty Marlin, Prathap (not sure what his alias is), Omi and a few others. Mostly fish the Kaveri since its close by - but have done some sea fishing off the coast in India, the UK and the US. Try to fish every new place I travel to - the last new place was with a friend and colleague in Austin Texas - where we fished for Bass in a local river.

Work for an IT company as my day job but dream of being on the water mostly !! :-)

Hey Sudhir,

Happy New Year. Good to have you on board. It has been some time since we last met. I feel the same way about Dave Plummer and think it's appauling. If it boils down to economics (which usually is the case) and anglers from here are willing to pay the same why can't it be open to them?
Catches on the river haven't been great for a couple of years and if the trend continues, Dave and the rest will be the first to disappear. There's a lot more to it, like all stories there are a couple of versions. I've discussed it to death and am not really in a mood to elaborate.

Anyways wishing you a good year with many a big fish and hope to see you soon.

Regards,
Mighty Marlin.
