Raj,

If I was fishing Rameshwaram, I will be using my 7' conventional rod with my Abu 6500. Try thin profile fish metal lures like Hopkins and such in the 1.5 ounce range. I'm sure 1/4 ounce jig heads with soft plastic bodies should be deadly in those calm seas. Like any place else, plastic swimmers with a thin profile like the Daiwa SP minnows might work as well.

I remember seeing a report on this forum from there a few years back of someone catching decent sized queen fish from the shore on metal lures.

Please tell what you catch, I'm curious.
BTW, can you be more specific on your rod/reel/line.

Cheers, Maruthu

That link leads to something that looks like a monnow lure which should work. Give it a try and fish places that have river mouths or rocks. Please update on how it goes.

Good Luck with your trip!

Cheers, Maruthu

Raj you have started this topic in the wrong section. you can use bait tackle tactics or shore fishing section for posting this kind of queries. Please don't do this again.
