Did you ever get a feeling that a rod which you call worthless can someday might just surprise you ?
I had a feeling...
This was my first rod, the only problem being that this 2 piece rod had been rendered a 4 piece by my brother... He bought this rod reel combo from the U.S but couldnt fit it in his bag so broke it and made it smaller( he thought it was metal and could be welded back) me and dad repaired this baby back to life, but I still wasn't convinced it could work... The rod had become from a medium action rod to a light action...
Even the line on the reel had been very "tangly" and would have memories everytime I casted it...
But yesterday, this rod proved me wrong, it helped me catch my first big tilapia, and as it was a light action rod, the fight was awesome...
All hail my modified cum repaired jyaada shakespeare tiger rod...

Every rod and reel brings back momories of the fish it caught. Keep your first rod and reel, but a time will come when the rods and reels that you have not used for years can be passed on to the new anglers who have no equiptment.
