I am having sleepless nights..
A friend has booked me on a trip almost a month in advance..

it will be my first trip to the most amazing place I have ever seen...
( have been going through the pictures in many trip reports)

can anyone help????

Always remember a scouts motto " BE PREPARED" rest all will fall in place.....
Wish you a good trip in advance and as you said most will be taken care of by gurus all I can say is that they would also e interested more in fishing than in sorting you out no matter how close you are as friends or relatives as if they don't be interested in fishing then the purpose of the trip is lost.... So small bit of advice is that even if everything is sorted don't bank on it. sort yourself out in terms of tackle you going to be using, the bait you would like to maybe prepare a little in advance to get the right odours to attract the fish, the hooks/rigs you will be using... just basics, in case people don't have the time... carry along lots of patience as this sport you can't afford to loose it. You mentioned you've seen many pictures of the place ask people who've visited the place some of the probable spots you should take a seat at. These are the few things I would've done if I had a month, I don't know how to craft lures and spinners etc. but if I did then I would do as arish says and invest sometime in making some.... In my case I would definitely invest some time and money in finding and stocking up on some..... About the picture. The one I have is a smaller fish for sure but it doesn't stop me from trying for the big ones, I believe you carry the same attitude, which is great because where I come from sometimes 10 trips can be just a drive by the country side with no fish or hookup..... I see you are motivated, just a little bit of preparation and I am positive the almighty will reward you with a fish and a picture like none before.
I remember om shanti om's dialogue here jab kisi cheez ko sachche dil se chaho toh sari kaynaath us cheez ko hasil karne mein tumhari saath deta hai.... For those who are not so good with hindi it translates to.... If in life you really want something from the depth of your heart then existence stands by you, helping you to achieve it.

That is exactly what I have been doing...

lotta online shopping and a lots of emails, sms and phone calls to gurus for all sorts of advice.
