This is in Japan. I've heard a lot about it. I find it disgusting, but that is the way they like it & I doubt it is ever going to change.

They also have competitions where the fish is cooked & kept alive for the longest possible time.

I have seen another video on You tube showing a cook paralyze a live fish from below the head , then holding the head and dip the body in boiling oil & then decorate it in a plate with sauce all over it
they have a very big menu book , cats, dogs, snakes, lizzards, catterpilars , crickets, roaches & maybe even XXXworms

Well guys, this could be Hong Kong, the people are speaking Cantonese, ask me I live here. If not Hong Kong somewhere in China judging from the chopsticks. Perhaps more likely they are Hong Kong tourists somewhere in China where things like this are quite common. The blue paper besides the plate looks like a note (cash) does not look like a Hong Kong note, the colour is of a $20 bill but not the same.

Hong Kong is actually pretty strict about things like this and something like this will be reported.

It is a disgusting act, and should not be tolerated. If I hear about a resturant here doing this, rest assured, I will report this dastardly and inhumane act.

It is Taiwan with Hong Kong tourists at the meal so the Canotnese. The fish head is actually chopped off first, the rest of the body deep fried. Here is another link that explains it further...the act even more disgusting, barbaric and inhumane.
