Hello Anglers,

I am sure there are many nature lovers and photography goes hand in hand with the liking that we all share.

We travel distance and capture beauty of the nature in our camera. Its time to show off our skills and the nature to every one who were not lucky to be there at that time.

Please try and keep the forum rules in mind while posting the images.

Let’s share and know the nature, tiny insects, fishes and all the other creatures that we capture.

Hope you all will love it and yes we can use this topic to enhance our photography skills along with fishing. I am sure there are some great photographers on our forum who can always suggest on what could have been done to get a better shot.

Bring on your best shots.

To start with some of mine old pics.

Fantastic stuff. I love the macro lens shots. What camera do you use? And can you educate us about a few of the shots, please.

Thanks Alibhai and Mahaseerken

All the pics are shot by a 7.2mp point and shoot camera. It’s a SONY DSC-W70 with a carl zeiss lens.

I am a learner myself however when ever you try to capture a macro or close up image try and mount it onto something steady or have a steady hand to avoid any shake. Sharpness and the rite focus of the subject is the most important thing to get an in depth feature of the object. You need to click a dozen of shots to get one or two best out of it. And yes as Patience is important for fishing same goes with photography to get the rite shot.

If you can get a camera which has a manual setting and allows you to play around with the ISO level, sharpness it’s the best.

Regards,
Raj

beautiful...

any tips on... taking snaps on a fishing trip...

one i know of is the fish should be wet, when taking a snap ( so the sand , dirt, etc is washed away... )

regards,
pranav...

Pranav, rules are simple.

1. Make sure the fish is held correctly ie. broadside to the camera.

2. The head and arms of the angler, all fins and extremities of the fish should be visible in the composition ie. do not cut off any part

3. Most times it is better to use the camera flash even in daylight especially when you have a large body of water behind the subject.

Hi Syd,
I believe its about the macro shots. Most of the time the distance is around 1-5cm. The lizard was shot from 15cm.

Pranav>>> As Bops correctly mentioned keep flash on and if your camera supports slow synchronized flash use them with a steady hand. Shutter speed is slow in this mode allowing to capture more light and keep the background perfect
Regards,
Raj

Raj excellent idea to create a photography thread!

@Raj: Absolutely epic Macro shots love all of them, some beautiful sunsets as well.
Question- How have you managed to capture the Macro shots with a SONY DSC-W70  have you modified it or done something special?!!
Im using a 550D with a 50mm lens and cannot for the love of God zoom in soo hard (even digital zoom wont cut the mustard). Any thoughts besides a Macro lens?!

@Christopher: The bird flying shots are beautifully captured.

Here's some from my Reel:
