Happy Holi To You, Daryl! If you are having Bhang, then you must be in Pune and not oman. :-)

hi bobby ,

truth is , i do know sanjay nagarkar from my last trip with him 2 years back..
that when i joined this forum and was down in pune on vacation and we met up on this site .

just a week back , im my quest for murral , i went up to daund ,through where the bhima flows and from there on to bhigwan. I was crazy enough to have called Sanjay's landline that morning in bhigwan just to ask him whether my technique with spinners for murral was right . local kept passing by saying thereare murral to be had , but those 5no. spinners kept getting weeded .

As for Sanjay , he said that id probably have better chances with live bait (frogs) so lets see .. and i do get the feeling (with all due respect ) that Sanjay is a wee bit secretive of what he knows in terms of locations .(as every self respecting angler is ..) so ok no issues ..

i prefer to look around on my own and making acquaintances with the locals by bumming line and hooks ,etc and they sorta show me places with potential for murrel .

i have seen some infact . will be making trips shortly.

fishing in oman during dec would be good.

oman has a vast coastline so you would do well with a surf rod on beaches , of which there is no derth.

you could also do rock fishing , at the muscat corniche. try casting deep diving x raps, but dead or live baiting works better. watch out for snags though.

if your acquaintances , know any local with a boat or if you r able to arrange one ,try getting out to the reefs.. theres good fishing there.

one the whole omans a great place to fish.

  We have seen too many places raped so it takes time to gain ones trust I guess till you know that that the person is OK....but I like your style, there is nothing more satisfying than finding a new spot and taking game there, all the best
