After the Lalbagh lake , what????????????.

Thanks to Jude, we are trying to promote the lake at the palace, and, apparently start an angling club. Well for this we should be prepared to make a few monetary sacrifices.

My idea at the Lalbagh did not take off and if you recollect, we wanted to have a small entrance fee to join the club and charge a daily fishing charge.

We ( Owen sar, Jude sar and myself) have been fishing there since the last few days. though we caught a number of fish they we not more than six hundred grams. the contractor has neither been feeding them nor proper security provided. There have been instances of poaching and some of the youngsters who had come to watch us, inform us that there are bigger ones, as much as two and have kgs. Incidently, the youngsters we found out were the poachers. There is a lot of potential here.

I would be most obliged if some of you anglers could meet up here so that we could further the talks with the contractor. You are free to express your opinions on the spot, rather, then on the forum. I shall put up my views, for your comments, (it does matter) hereunder.

1. An entrance fee charge, to be held by the club 2. Daily fishing charge to be paid to the the contractor and a nominal amout to the club 3. Fresh supply of stock 4. Approach the KSFC for assistance for getting some bigger size stock 5. Feeding of the fish 6. Security and maintainence 7.
Any other subject you wish to add.

Do try and make it on Saturday as I shall be ground baiting the place for the next two days.

7. construction of machans?
will make fishing there a lot more organised. otherwise we'll just end up being cramped up on the same pile of rocks we were on today.

Please try and get your own baits eg. worms, ragi, bread buns etc.

Aaron you refused to go to the third and forth spot, near the peepul tree and tamrind tree. Soree.

Yes, but let us meet first and talk it over amongst ourselves.

Well, we had a good day of fishing. In attendance we had the following:

Riaz, Aaron and Joshua, Jude and his tribe of two children-Arjun and Anjan, Prakash, Owen Uncle and his nephew-Patrick, Bops and Shankar-from Assam ( he is Apoo`s uncle) and last but not the least yours truly and my grandson, Pranav.

The day started well with Riaz catching but not landing the first. This was followed by a common carp, weighing around 800 gms., by Pranav. Others landed common carp, but yours truly had a few knocks but of no avail. Shankar was landing tilapia by the dozens and so was Jude and little Arjun. All in all we had a nice day and the high light of the day was Bops landing at the lake with everything under the sun for fishing but_____________ I leave you guessing. He was busy trying to hook in his bundle which he lost to the wind into the lake and ultimately he had to wade in to retrieve the same. Shall have Riajz to post the pictures on the thread.

Bobbee,

All due to your personal enthu and drive (not the car  )

The kids had a great day and this is now their third favourite place besides WASI Cottage and Manchinbele .

Folks, this place is so cosy, convenient and contained it has the potential to be along the lines of the Fort William club in Calcutta.
