It was with great sadness that I learnt a short time ago of the death of a good friend and one of India's most celebrated angling names.I refer to Subahn," the fishing god of the kaveri" known by many I.A. members personally and by many more anglers worldwide through his appearances in magazine articles, t.v. videos and books Born in Sangham, he grew up in and on the banks of the kaveri, fishing for the pot and helping very occasional anglers catch mahseer,W.A.S.I. then protected the stretch, with Subahn on the team, he became head guide and managed the W.A.S.I. camp at galliborai before running bush betta downstream. This guy had probably seen more enormous mahseer than the rest of us put together, and helped in the capture of a lot of them too.his knowledge of his beats were second to none and he LOVED his fishing .... wondered if you guys might like to share some stories of your adventures with the man, there must be loads of them.... cheers, Rich.
