The crazy thing is that this actually happens in Calcutta after the rains. Well not exactly this but you do see people casting nets into the middle od submerged roads.

Amen to that ToitleKen...

Now I stay in a place where there are a lot of ponds around and during the last shpwers that we had here, the entire place got flooded, In most places you had knee deep water to waist deep water ( In OMO's level, it would be ankle deep to knee deep   )..
As a result of the floods, fish from these ponds came out on to the road.. Unfortunately for them, they decided to have a swimabout in a Bong-infested area.. Within 5 minutes of the first sighting of fish, the road was blocked to all traffic, and u had Bongs of every size and stature out with their mosquito nets catching them fish..
Most of them walked away with a whole bunch of tilapias and some would also catch some carp.. One fluffer caught a rohu about a kg in weight...

This be Kolkata - Where you can even fish from your Bedroom..

I have actaully done in Sunderban. Got Magur, and fish called 'Topshe' in Bengali. Its quite a bit of fun. We also put a matka in to the football ground with Bread and milkmaid. Covered the top with muslin and a small hole. next day morning got an assortment of fish and small shrimp.
