Thanks Gav. My understanding is that the SOI will not release high res maps to civilians. . Need one of Karnataka for trekking and fishing locations etc.

Hi Bops,

I have 1:50,000 scale maps of the Cauvery, and the Bandipur region plus malvalli(malvalli to Siddapur) section. I bought these from the Map Sales office of SoI on Sarjapur Road. I live close by and can check if they are still on sale.

If the maps you are interested in are 50 km from the coast or any border of India, then they will not sell it to you. This is what I was told when I bought my maps about 3 years ago.

Call me Bops if you want me to check if they are still on sale.

Sandeep

Hi Bops
try http://www.wikimapia.org
fairly reasonable kind of images on the internet.something like google earth
could probably find your house on it.
that is if you enter the map and record it
