Hi Owen,

How about taking a month off and do an all India angling tour fishing both North & soutth for Masheer? I will arrange the Vehicle . You got the time?. If yes tell me which time of the year we can do this . WE can muster up a group of 4 Guys inluding my self. We,ll pack tents, Sleeping bags cooking gear and cameras . This is one way we could put all the different species on one format and enjoy doing it . Youll have to do the planning and pick the team.

I am serious. Work out something .

Tight Lines

Jeen

Hi Jeen,

Wonder why the thread went cold.

I was wondering if a one month Mahseer Yatra is practical from the point of best time to fish the various rivers in India. Down South in the Cauvery the season is November through March.

What about the North?? Different rivers have different times.

I am willing to help with the arrangements in Bangalore as I have the time. We could do it as a relay if different parts of the country are being covered. IA members can volunteer to make local arrangements in their own waters.

Camping and fishing sounds like a great idea. Also to meet other IA members who can make it to the camps.

Any thoughts guys??

Outrigorsandeep

Dear Sandip,

Yea ,I am wondering too. However you do have a valid point. We do have to make two different trips for North & south taking the season and weather into consideration.
Meanwhile me and my son are doing at three week trip starting 1st week Dec from Kanyakumari to malvalli all along the western ghats fishing the upper reaches of the rivers that originate from these hills. I also want to check out the water condition of some of these rivers which I fished in the early 80s. I hope i can identify some decent stretches and propose an angling/ conservation proposal to the Tourisim Ministry of Kerala.
And Apoo, rest assured we will come knocking at your door next year

Regards,

Jeen
