Hello All

This is currently an off-topic thread, though I think it should be here, under Mahseer.

We are about to lose arguably the best Mahseer fishing in the world with this
proposed ban. Having fished at the JLR camps for 15 years, there has been
nothing like it and I've fished for over 40 years.

My good friend Johnson (mannil5) has had a 7/0 hook straightened (I think Bops has this now) by a fish with a "mouth the size of a bucket.....50 kg
sir" Bola said

Last year 50 yards from the camp at Galibore my wife, who has caught several fish to 40 lb, had a bite that so was powerful she couldn't lift the rod above the horizontal to strike!

I've caught 2-3 lbers on the dry fly as well....

Please look at the comments on the off-topic thread

Thanks
Kevin

Hi Kevin

This issue is already being discussed in the link below,

http://www.indianangler.com/viewtopic.php?t=3069

The ban is not just for mahseer but for all species in the stretch which is one of the reasons why this issue is under the General topics section. Another reason is that the general topics section is visible to all visitors to site, even those that are not registered.

Ok Bops thanks, hadn't realised about the non-members, but wasn't sure if the members logging on to look under
Mahseer were aware of the issue.

The proposed meeting with Jairam Ramesh looks promising

Regards
Kevin
