Really!! Is the season on????

YES IT IS and as always challenging.

Last week, we hit Bhakra early in the morning.

Rain and a dynamic enviornment - it took Dhruv and me a day to figure out where the fish were. Lots of brain storming on why and what we should have done, resulted in a successful 2nd day.

We caught a total of 7 the second day, broken rods and rain, rain and rain with lightning that was so close to the boat, I am sure we would have sizzled if it got any closer.

The third day the fish dodged us again, but later on we did get a few (applied water craft by Dhruv), and I lost a good fish on the run on the banks when my braid got cut against rocks.

Here is one of the catch:

Cheers!!

Nice!

Man those storms are crazy. Especially when you are out there in the middle on the boat.

I normally hand my graphite rod to a 'friend' when there is too much lightening. hahahahahaah

Nice fish Sam :) congrats.

Lightning and graphite rods is dangerous. But what a HIT that would be..

Damn, waiting for the rains to stop. My hands are itching.

Well done! It takes guts and fortitude to fish in such conditions and you have been suitably rewarded.

Great,

looks like last years 1-2 Kg phenomenon will not be repeated this year. Good opening catch.

keep on doing it.

Thanks Guys, I am sure Dhruv will give vivid inputs once he gets online. Did you notice the water line, its just under 20-30 feet below the top of the Dam. Flood gates have been opened now.

Last year and before the Mahseer was obviously bumper, thus the size. Fortunately, the nets are for Silver Carp and not out yet for Mahseer. The Silver have prolificated so much that its commerically viable for the fishermen to ignore Mahseer.

Another thought is the thermocline....... which is another topic that can be explored by MK, IG, Ali and the other students/gurus.

Cheers!!
