 Post subject: Monsters of Tunga River.

Hi Guys,

Wanted to share this with everyone. It is a tempting sight to view hundreds of these monsters feasting together and they are fearless of humans around them.

You can feed them and even touch them.

They are at this location for years.

It’s a ancient temple at Sringeri in Karnataka the tunga river flows form the foot steps of this temple and there are these monsters.

Fishing at these sights not allowed, however locals say you can go down the river to catch some but need to be careful of the crocks there.

These are similar to the ones at a place named Tilsa where the river Vaitarna flows down a small bridge and the mahseers cruise between the deep pools of the rocks below.

You can see the same in lake Ranuka Ji, Himanchal, and feeding them by hand is a joy.

Ken,

You can always relieve the pain by walking 5 km down river, to the dam and make friend with the in charge. The size and quantum of mahseer I have never seen.. :roll:

In Uttranchal there is a place 40km from Kausani. Same situation is there. Lots of monsters but u cant catch them. :D

That is the Baijnath temple (spelling may be incorrect). Lots of golden mahseers are there.
