I feel very sorry guys my account was hacked into!
I have just changed the password for the same and hope it remains a personal identity, regardless of what some other idiots may try and post on others behalf.

Terribly sorry that something like this was posted without my knowledge!!

Bobby, this brings me to the subject again. I must have killed about 20 Mahseer out the total 100 or so I have caught during my fishing at Dadupur & Kalesar belt (The Yamuna & Western Yamuna canal). That's about 20 fish in 10 years! The western yamuna canal was a good fishery but netting during canal repairs operations finished it.

If we can control commercial fishing and habitat loss then (a) loss to Mahseer by anglers who will not agree to "catch & release" will be limited and (b) if we can increase the numbers of new anglers in India who DO "catch & release" it would be a good start on which we can build upon.

Well, straying a little from the post. Recently, on photos on the net I have seen medium & small Mahseer being handled very poorly before release. Fish handling needs much to be desired. Hope it improves.

Shal!

Please read the forum rules. Get an introduction in the right thread going (it's only polite). And let's talk about catch and release.

regards

Mahseerken - yes, lets indeed talk about catch and release - will we in our lifetime see ads saying only 1411 mahseer left in our rivers....for us and our children's sake...I hope not !!! Think people think !!!!
